Device Architecture and Technical Foundation

Flame Story functions as a self-contained story generation engine installed directly onto your iOS device. The application leverages on-device processing to create tabletop RPG content without relying on external servers, API calls, or cloud computation. Once installed, the app operates independently of network connectivity, making it suitable for gaming sessions in locations without reliable internet access.

The oracle system within Flame Story accepts genre selection, tone calibration via slider interface, and optional seed text as input parameters. Users choose between Scene, Encounter, NPC, Location, Twist, or Yes/No generation modes. The FORGE button triggers the generation algorithm, which produces narrative text displayed character-by-character using typewriter animation. Generated content can be re-rolled for alternative results or modified with the Twist function to introduce unexpected narrative complications.

Story data persists in local device storage, organized within the Library and Your Stories interfaces. The app maintains a Codex system for user-created world-building entries and a built-in Compendium of reference material. Character profiles support ability scores, traits, backstory text, and portrait images from the device camera roll. Quest tracking links characters to active narrative threads, and completed adventures export as plain text files for external archiving or sharing.

Core Oracle Capabilities

Multi-Genre Oracle System

Generate narrative content across Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Horror, Mystery, Noir, and Fairy Tale settings. Each genre applies distinct vocabulary and thematic elements to scenes, encounters, and NPC descriptions.

Encounter Design Engine

Create combat scenarios, social challenges, and exploration obstacles on demand. Twist function adds unexpected complications to existing encounters for dynamic difficulty adjustment during solo play.

Polyhedral Dice Expressions

Roll d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20, and d100 using advanced notation. Supports 2d6+3 modifiers, 4d6kh3 keep-highest mechanics, and advantage/disadvantage from modern tabletop systems.

Character Profile System

Track ability scores, traits, backstory text, and link characters to active quests. Camera roll integration allows custom portrait assignment. All character data stored locally on device.

Private World Codex

Build persistent campaign settings by storing locations, factions, artefacts, and historical events. Codex entries remain accessible across multiple story sessions for world continuity.

Template Frameworks

Launch pre-configured adventures using Dungeon Run, Space Opera, Locked Room, The Long Night, Rain City, or Into the Old Woods templates with genre-appropriate tone and encounter tables.
